Aggiornamento Dicembre 2024: Si avvicina la fase finale del progetto "Le mie Montagne". La selezione delle foto per la pubblicazione e l'editing del libro sono dietro l'angolo. E poi ci sarà la fase di crowdfunding per finanziare la stampa! Insomma i primi mesi dell'anno prossimo si preannunciano molto intensi e sarà fondamentale il vostro aiuto e supporto concreto!!

Dopo i progetti "Gran Sasso d'Italia" e "Majella Madre", terminati con la pubblicazione dei rispettivi libri fotografici nel 2020 e 2023, sono al lavoro sul terzo ed ultimo capitolo della mia ricerca fotografica sull'Appennino Centrale. Questa volta mi focalizzerò sulle montagne "di casa", lì dove ho passato tante estati, weekend e periodi vacanzieri fin da bambino. Il titolo del progetto è infatti: "Le mie Montagne, una storia del Velino-Sirente". Mi baserò ancora una volta sul medesimo approccio ma in questo caso, seguendo l'evoluzione già presente tra i primi due lavori, mi concentrerò maggiormente sulla dimensione più intima della montagna, sulle visioni che risuonano nel profondo del mio vissuto. Con un'occhio attento ai segni dell'uomo in montagna, ereditato dal lavoro sulla Majella, e con un'attrezzatura ridotta, una fotocamera, una lente, uno chassis, andrò alla ricerca di immagini e luoghi che mi porto dentro fin dall'infanzia, o che desidero ardentemente scoprire, o riscoprire, alla luce di tutto ciò che ho fatto negli ultimi anni. Non so ancora esattamente dove mi porterà questa ricerca, ma quello che voglio è far sì che il Velino-Sirente tiri fuori la persona che sono diventata oggi, e quindi, come sempre d'altronde, si tratta in ultima analisi di una ricerca su me stesso. Lavorerò esclusivamente in 8x10" e il libro che verrà avrà le stampe della stessa dimensione del negativo, "a contatto" quindi, in modo tale che il lettore avrà la possibilità, guardando l'immagine stampata, di vederla esattamente come l'ho vista io sul vetro smerigliato della fotocamera.

Update December 2024: The final stage of the "My Mountains" project is upon us. We're close to selecting photos for publication and editing the book. Following that, we'll enter the crowdfunding phase to fund the printing. The upcoming months will be bustling with activity, and your invaluable help and support will be crucial!

After the "Gran Sasso d'Italia" and "Majella Madre" projects, which ended with the publication of their respective photobooks in 2020 and 2023, I am working on the third and final chapter of my photographic research on the Central Apennines. This time I will focus on the mountains "at home," there where I have spent so many summers, weekends and vacation periods since childhood. The title of the project is in fact, "My Mountains, a story of the Velino-Sirente." I will once again rely on the same approach but in this case, following the evolution already present between the first two works, I will focus more on the intimate dimension of the mountains, on the visions that resonate deep in my experience. With a keen eye for the signs of man in the mountains, inherited from my work on the Majella, and with a reduced equipment, a camera, a lens, a chassis, I will go in search of images and places that I have been carrying within me since childhood, or that I long to discover, or rediscover, in the light of all that I have done in recent years. I don't know yet exactly where this research will take me, but what I want is to make Velino-Sirente bring out the person I have become today, and so, as always after all, it is ultimately a research on myself. I will work exclusively in 8x10" and the book to come will have the prints the same size as the negative, "contact print" then, so that the reader will have the opportunity, looking at the printed image, to see it exactly as I saw it on the ground glass of the camera.
